Why the Carnivore Community Found Tallow Skincare First -- And What They Know That You Don't

Mainstream beauty discovered tallow skincare around 2023-2024 when viral TikTok content drove mass consumer awareness. The carnivore and ancestral health communities had been documenting tallow skincare outcomes since at least 2019 -- years before the trend. They were not ahead of a trend. Step 1: Question the Dietary Fat Narrative

The carnivore community began by questioning the dominant dietary fat narrative: that saturated animal fat causes cardiovascular disease and should be replaced by polyunsaturated plant oils. Following the research rather than the guidelines, they found the evidence was weaker than presented and that the evidence for saturated fat's actual role in human metabolism pointed in the opposite direction.

Step 2: Understand PUFA Oxidation
